Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX

Summary: Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.

When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.

Under the entry name "Machu," she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.

Now their world is about to enter a new era. -MAL.

Both the OP and ED are quite catchy.

The Gundams look a bit weird but ultimately doesn't matter. They look incomplete and experimental, which kind of fits the bill.

Char's been absorbed by the red Gundam. I thought I was wrong for a second given there was a blond kid in the most recent episode, but that guy's not Char.

This is actually pretty good. I'm enjoying the fights as well as the drama off-screen.

-So, rage or emotional outbursts end up in purple explosions. That part isn't that hard to get.

-The last tine this happened, Red Gundam seemingly swallowed Char and the entire set of them disappeared. This time Shuji went into the "black hole" I'll call it. So we can expect the Red Gundam to reappear at some point - perhaps with the consciousness of both Char and Shuji within.

-The one to trigger the purple explosion isn't necessarily the one who will be swallowed. The only constant seems to be the Red Gundam, though CQuuuuuuX was bout to do it too.

-Both girls seem to like Shuji. Teenage-girl-hormones would surely have much to do with it, but it also seems to be driven by how pleasant the twinkling NewType state is for them. Machu stated she can't reach that state without Shuji, but Shuji was reaching that by himself - given he's been painting murals of it all over the place. He also doesn't seem to have the same attraction towards the girls as the girls have towards him. His ability to reach Newtype Nirvana alone might have something to do with Char being in the Red Gundam I'm presuming.

If I had to choose between Nyan and Machu I'd have chosen Nyan - mostly because she seemed more mature physically and mentally. After this episode, I'm not entirely sure.
