Cool, Mikoto (the real one, not the cat) and Miyu make their first appearances in ep 8, if you haven't noticed. This further increases the chance of Mai showing up.

Nope. Midori was the red haired, justice filled "17" year old teacher working on her doctorate in the original series. Now apparently a hateful, evil crazy Mai-Star of the Black Valley robosuit people
Mikoto appeared above the organ in eps 7.
Ah, right, completely forgot about Mikoto above the organs.
BUT Midori DOES appear (kinda) at the end of episode 8. She's the one who steps up to that lord guy after one of her comrades calls her name out.
I said that too:
"Now apparently a hateful, evil crazy Mai-Star of the Black Valley robosuit people"
You can tell its her from her voice. Its the same seiyuu, Yukari Tamura, one of my favorites.
Shit, I must be going crazy while I'm reading stuff now.... my bad, Ryllharu.
wait, so is Mai Hime possibly connected plot wise? or are they just reusing characters? I havent seen Mai Hime so if they are connected I want to see it.
Reusing characters the same way that Tsubasa Chronicles reuses old CLAMP characters. Same name (for the most part, a lot of the family names are changed), same face, but a different person. Its a different world, some have the same personality (Nao, Shizuru, Haruka, Chie) and other are varied levels of different from their old selves (Shiho, Mashiro, and probably Midori).
im getting all confused with the names
Mai wil be in the show. I'll be using the first episode as a reference, but check out 03:45. That's defintely Mai in the opening, I mean the hair and silloutte is a clue, but wth the three fireballs there is no question who that is. Looks like she might have an evil presence in the show though. I haven't seen eps 5 - 8 yet, watching them now. But I loved Mai-HiME and have decent expectations of this. I feel as if I've had more enjoyment of Mai HiME come episode 5, so we'll see how far this show gets.
#9 is a fun episode, hiking yeay!
Shizura-chan seems to enjoy female company a bit more than the other girls
Ended up not so nicely. Guess she might do something unexpected. Next episode we will see some action.
mmm. torrent is not working for me
if you goto animesuki.com, the torrent works over there....
Who hoo! Midori is back! This is freakin sweet! She even had Gakentenou. Now if only I could see Mai and Kagutsuchi.
I think Mai will end up being an Otome, so she probably won't have Kagutsuchi, which is unfortunate.
But Midori is, as always, consistenly impressive. I really liked how they switched her from spear/axe/polearm to twin katanas.
I always like these series (Mai-Hime/Otome). They seem a bit slow paced at first, but then cram so much storyline and changes into the last like 16 eps that it seems like it was much longer or even two different series. They've got as of eps 10, the Organ, Tomoe constantly hazing Arika, Midori and the cyborgs (and all the pre-colony tech that will need to be explained), whatever Nagi's been planning, Arika finding more about her mother and Arika's contract with Mashiro (parallels the others, so not really separate), and potentially a large scale war (Somehow Nagi related perhaps?). I've no doubt at all that we'll see all of these fully develop, the series are paced so well.
Finally the pace is picking up
