Welcome to the Gotwoot forums. Some have already expressed a like for this show, so it has been watched by at least a few. Can you flesh out a bit what you like so much about it? Then we might be able to to start a discussion, and even get some suggestions for shows you might like that are similar.

I honestly don't know if I'm actually interested in these, but has there been anything out there that you recommend that is similar to Kimagure Orange Road? Seems like everything gets slanted too much in either the shoujo romance or in the gag-comedy, etc.

Only thing I've watched that reminded me of it was Adachi's series like Touch and maybe even Suzuka later on.

I guess something in the shounen drama/romance mold with nice likable characters all around. Most of what's found out there seems to be done with Sports anime.

    I don't know.

Balanced comedy romance that's actually really good?

    Adachi's Cross Game obviously.

Chihayafuru is technically a "sports" series about the card game karuta, but between the characters and the sort of rivalry-romance, I think it may have what you're looking for.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai is mostly a coming of age/romance-drama. While heavily leaning toward the drama side of things, I mention it because it is so much better than its peers.

Nagi no Asukara - There are definitely a couple of unlikable characters (which they are depends on the viewer), but this was one of the best looking and best written coming-of-age/romance series of the last few years.

Inou Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de - A high school literature club gets incredibly powerful psychic abilities...and life proceeds as normal, much to the dismay of one of their members. A comedy on the surface, but with a plenty of drama/romance elements. What sets it apart is that it largely defies the usual formula whenever it can.

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari - Because it fits everywhere.

I might think of a few more later.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou - Guy falls in love with dandere senpai while living in an apartment filled with wacky misfits.

    Does Hyouka fit?

I'd put it into the Mystery(-Drama)/Romance genre and it was a very solid show in my opinion, with a very likeable male and female lead.

Nope. Watched a bit of it some time ago, and it's really not a similar atmosphere.

Hmm, are there any good new(or new-ish) martial-arts type anime out? or perhaps there's some coming out later on? Been a while since I've seen one of those

I hope people still check this thread, would you guys mind to introduce me tu Lupin III somehow without me having to watch the show from back ~1980? So I can get ready for the new one later(?) this year?
Browsing through AniDB and that other site (which name I can't remember right now) left me really confused, there is soooo much stuff from this show. The list just wouldn't end.. argh

Are there movies that introduce the characters at least "somewhat" well enough for me to understand who is who etc?
What Movies and OVAs should I watch?

HALP...I'm really in the mood for a show like this right now.

I don't think you'll find much help around here (don't think people in this forum have watched much if any of it I think), but this might be of help and hope for the best:

This 13 episode series from 2012 is a prequel to those 70s/80s series so it might be of some help:

Hmm I guess a prequel needs to work on it's own right?

I think I'll start with that and work through the movies and specials from there.

That was my thought on it, also if for nothing else it should give background info (and probably foreshadows quite a bit of things that do occur during the series).

I apologize for asking something so ... well, dumb, but anyway: Can you guys tell me if there are any essential must-sees from this season that I might have missed? I mean real must-sees, not "itīs kinda ok" or "itīs great for the most part". I just figured that Iīm not watching much currently, even though I have the time lol.

And just for the record, something like GATE is not what Iīd consider a must-see. I keep watching it cause it features a concept I happen to like, but itīs not a very good anime overall. Must-sees, in my book, are shows like Mushishi, Kaiji or even Aldnoah Zero, somewhat. Anything like this?

"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court

Meh, not sure about must-sees (frivolous concept), but at least these might be worth checking out to see if they pique your interest:

    Gangsta
    Classroom Crisis
    God Eater
    Overlord
    Rokka no Yuusha

    I'd guess Durarara!!x2 Ten, but I haven't watched it.

Non Non Biyori Repeat if you're into slice of life, but you should probably go back and watch Non Non Biyori first.

Otherwise, the answer is no. Nothing will meet your standards. Plenty of good shows though. You will find ways to nitpick everything Munsu suggested.

    (and Aldnoah.Zero was a must-watch-so-I-can-hate-on-it-along-with-everyone-else, not a must-see)

    Thatīs true

I watched some of Non Non Biyori back then. Iīm not that much a fan of "watch little girls do things", though. God Eater, hm, i liked ep1, should go back to that. Classroom Crisis sounded interesting, too. Oh well, itīs almost fall season :>

If you liked the first one of God Eater, then keep at it since it gets better from there. Getting past the first episode with that one is usually the difficult part.

For Classroom Crisis it gets better beyond the first episode as well... the first episode isn't really representative of the rest.

So, Im kinda lost this season. Watching One Punch Man of the new shows. And Gundam and Utawarerumono, though the latter isnīt that outstanding (yet?). Have any must-sees manifested already?

Also, Iīm a bit sad I didnīt get a birthday thread this year tbh :>

Since I love Boku dage ga inai Machi TOO much, I need some recommendations. PLEASE! Any other shows similar to that one or Ano Hana? I already know stuff like Boku to Kimi, though Iīd say that one isnīt really featuring what makes the other two so enjoyable, which is:

    - some sort of (not overblown!) mystery
    - reminiscing oneīs own childhood/teenager"hood"(?)

Would love to get some anime that are like that and have nice animation and music, too.
