no matter which way you look at it the people of the leaf are utter scum. They spit and bite there thumb at not only the son of the 4th hokage, but also the person charged with being the jinchuriki. There is no valid reason why the adults in the leaf village would act that way and im really not sure what anyone hopes to achieve by showing the entire village as such a shallow place. I think now that perhaps sasuke was right and the final arc of naruto will be naruto being made to take another look at his life and him and sasuke kicking ten shades of shit out of the village for just basically being complete idiots.

I don't think the villagers realize he's the 4th's son.

And apparently, everyone but the Hidden Cloud treats their Jinchuuriki's like shit. The prevalent belief seems to be that at any moment they're going to lose control and kill a bunch of people(which honestly, makes open hostility towards them all the more stupid).

But yeah, everything in regards to Naruto's upbringing seems stupid.

But then again, if he'd known he was the son of the 4th, maybe he'd have turned out a spoiled shit like Sasuke.

His shitty childhood seems to have resulted in him turning out awesome, so I guess the 3rd knew what he was doing.
