Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu! I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire

    Anilist
After a life of honesty left him betrayed, Liam is reborn into a vast interstellar empire with one goal: be the galaxy’s worst evil lord. But no matter how hard he tries to be a tyrant, his “wicked” plans keep backfiring into peace, prosperity, and adoring fans. Galactic chaos, magic, and mecha await in this hilariously misconstructed tale of a villain who can’t help but to impress.

three episodes out, for some weird reason, this works for me.
the drama parts hit, the comedy is nice, and the far-away action is also exciting enough. I thought the mood swings would take me out of the plot, but it ties the story together.

Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

Quite a different start compared to the manga. I wonder if it was like this in the novel. I kind of doubt that. The anime director must have thought the MC's suffering in Japan would have been too depressing for the average watcher, resulting in the first episode doing poorly. This way of doing it, however, reminds me too much of the infamous manhwa Chapter 0s, which are always full of spoilers, sometimes to the point it feels pointless to read the manhwa anymore. At least this wasn't that bad.

I get why, it makes the first episode flow better (not depressing), sets the ending of the season, and has some action scenes.

also, I don't know why, but when I read the manga, I was under the impression the AI girl was modeled after his ex-wife, but I guess I made it up.

This series is a satire. I read the LNs.

It is strange how they are presenting it as if it took itself seriously, when really most of it is just making fun of the OP reincarnator genre.

Neither the manga adaptation or this anime look like satire. The manga might be laughing at itself more than this anime, though this is still just the beginning after three eps, but I can't see this as satire. Not to mention 99% of isekai is sword and sorcery, whereas this is scifi with magic. If this was supposed to be a satire of the average isekai, the setting is poorly chosen. Though that being said, much of the isekai genre is so trashy that it's like satire even without trying. But after a while you get so used to it that it's hard to see anymore; if you read 5 non-satire and then 50 satire titles, your default view moves toward the satire being the "normal" one. So, maybe I'm just blind to it.

The most obvious satirical aspect is the school of the one flash, that he is learning right now. It remains to be seen how much they will lean on its actual satirical nature.

    episode 4. still good.
this one didn't focus on much on him attempting to be "evil lord", but the fondling robot was great.

Liam has such a good teacher. He's learning skills few have seen before, granting him more power than mere money could buy.

episode 5 - blond girl is correct. both in terms of making a sale, and maybe even in terms of effect.

fun episode, even if low on action.

episode 6 - a delightful clusterfuck. rocket hands are such a great move.

Those pirates surely are courageous: challenging a grand fleet of the empire. I hope the pirate boss remembers his own rule: a pirate must not flee from the enemy.

While you might say the pirate boss is comically evil, I actually feel like he was quite successfully made horrific without it feeling too forced in that particular universe. His an utter sadist but also a collector. When you get wealthy enough, traditional riches probably don't mean so much anymore, so he started collecting people he twisted into demented forms, enjoying their agony, fear, and the absolute power he holds over them. The surgeon he employed was obviously simply insane, though.

The Guide is really bad at his work. He sucks negative emotions out of a random dude who messed up his natto, instead of those dozens of people turned into monsters against their will. But of course it's essential he's bad at it, otherwise he wouldn't make things better for Liam.

The satirical aspects of this show are finally showing. Liam randomly inventing skills because of a conman teacher, him using the flash while being in a robot, which somehow also expands his range and damage, and him being somehow stupid enough to believe that conman teacher to the point of disbelief. And yes, the guide being utterly inept for no believable reason whatsoever is also part of it.

the part with the pirates was surprisingly dark. as Kraco said, it's evil and bad, but seems like something he does for fun, a hobby, not a life project. which makes it worse.

Kudo for the show for having Liam walk with the teacher rather than using the hoverboard. he shows the proper respect, and the anime conveys it to the viewer.

animation suffered quite a bit. Maybe a little too chatty, still fun.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

Under any normal circumstances, if you want to be an evil lord, then being rational doesn't work. Liam is rather rational in all the mundane things, whether he's actually consciously planning to be or not. As a reincarnated ordinary Japanese salaryman, he wasn't born with decadent values of debauchery and immorality, like a spoiled brat of an autocrat might turn out. Furthermore, he's actually listening to his advisors all the time and working hard. A rational evil lord could only be someone living under more abnormal circumstances, such as in the middle of a big war and wanting to remain at the top of it through cruel, ruthless efficiency toward both own and enemy people. Otherwise it would not be rational to waste your domain's prospects through senseless acts.

Nevertheless, it's always funny whe his advisors, employees, or acquiantances don't understand his illogical sounding desires and present counterarguments to prove such ideas serve no purpose.
