    Kowloon Generic Romance

    314467.jpg

"Welcome to Kowloon Walled City: a dystopian townscape where the people are brimming with nostalgia, and where the past, present, and future converge. Amid the hidden emotions and extraordinary daily lives of the men and women working in its confines, a tale of romance begins to unfold for real estate agent Kujirai Reiko—one that feels as familiar as Kowloon itself...

Not knowing anything, and going by that description it would seem that is the default method, this was pretty engaging for at least the first episode as the mind gnaws away at what could possibly be 'off' about this place and what these characters could be doing here with a giant cube floating in the sky. Speculation immediately settles on some sort of simulation or fake world for the deceased with missing memories and the like, but hopefully Kowloon has more tricks up its sleeve.

Also, for art, this looks like the late 90's remake of an early 90's ova, and I mean that in the best way possible. Nico Robin's voice actor certainly caught my attention and she wasn't squandered as the B version of main girl. Definite recommend for the... nostalgic.

An article poped out about the real world kowloon. No spoilers but that 90's art vibe perfectly fits.

    episode 3

That's a really bad choice for a fishtank. and for some reason, she has a closet full of fine china dishes.

Dropped it. Started episode 3, but realized I'm really forcing myself to watch this. It's just ... too boring. Bummer, because I was already down to only 3 anime this season.

Hebi guy is a bit of a letdown in a story better suited for an adult audience for once. And I think the background noise/details are enough to want more. My fear is that ep4 will ruin an otherwise nice atmosphere/world building with too much hebi guy and maybe some hunter x hunter vibe with the barman...
