That was exactly what I was thinking.

Anyway, I didn't think woot originated from anywhere but the internet. As far as I ever knew, it's just net-speak for whoo hoo. I know it's not an acronym like lol, but lol originated on the internet and I believe it's the same here. The net does have its own terms and woot is one of them.
