Well, that is only for certain ISP's. If you are not having that problem then why bother changing the port range. I use the Official client so even if I wanted to, I couldn't change the port range. If you can not connect to the tracker and you get that errror, then yes, by all means do what you said to do. However, if you don't get the error and Bittorrent works fine, don't bother changing it.
