I dont think its purposely a swatstika, if you look at the raw you'll notice that it seems to be a kanji symbol.

Edit @ fremeer: I already knew that but that wasn't my point -_- more than likely since there was no reference to it at all within the translation as anything but normal kanji, then its safe to assume it has nothing to do with a swatstika aside from the similar appearance.

ahh but i wasnt saying it as a bad thing, the swatstika has been a symbol of good for many centuries only in the last has it been a bad symbol to the western world due to the nazis.

so ichigo having the swatstika is actually pretty hard core.

edit: btw the kanji in the text is called manji and is a religious symbol, since it was used in the wording of bankai i assume it has something to do with that. also many symbols are added into places without being explained, half the fun of watching some stuff is to spot all the symbols and stuff, like evangelion for instance.
